Jack James (b. 1985) is an artist interested in creating moments of performance and happenings during everyday life. Often featuring domestic technologies (re)positioned to explore explore the role of media in producing culture; Jack's work traverses the fields of sound and social practice, through installation and performance work.
Jack is part of artist's collective thickear with whom he created Ministry of Measurement, Pink Sheet Method and initiated the Data and Ethics Working Group at ICT & Art Connect 2013, Brussels. Which lead a to string of European engagements including Experiment #2 Consent exhibited at Museum Boijmans van Beuningen, Rotterdam. Past solo appearances include opening SPILL Festival of Performance 2012, monomania, BEAM: Brunel Electronic & Analogue Music Festival, Wysing Music Festival, Barbican Centre and Cafe Oto. Jack has been artist-in-residence with Metal in Peterborough and at Music Hackspace as part of Sound and Music's Embedded programme.
