St Peters Road, Peterborough, 31 Aug 2014 (performance)
Chauffeurs Cottage, Peterborough, 1 Sept - 3 Oct 2014 (installation)
Temporary Local Broadcast began with a series of recorded conversations during July and August 2014 in the Lincoln Road area, north of Peterborough city centre. The project culminated with a hyper local FM radio transmission broadcasting a sound work, made through and in response to the conversations, as part of a shared ‘tuning in’ event for Peterborough Arts Festival. Participants and other audience members congregated, bringing portable radios and car stereo systems to St Peters Road and tuning in to 103.1 FM or listened without their own equipment. Simultaneous broadcasts took place on Peterborough FM and Resonance104.4fm.
CD release of the broadcasted piece available from Electric Knife Records.
Temporary Local Broadcast was commissioned by Metal and was supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.
